Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults

The Parish of St. Paul, New Southgate is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of the children within our church community, and also to encouraging an environment where all people and especially those who may be vulnerable are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.

We are also committed to the implementation of the Diocese of London Safeguarding Policy (a copy of which you can download below), and the relevant statutory legislation and guidance for the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This includes DBS checks for all those working with children.

Every year the PCC considers and adopts the Diocese of London Safeguarding Policy, displays a copy in church and forwards a copy to the Diocesan Safeguarding Office for their records.

The PCC has appointed a Church Safeguarding Officer to work with the Vicar and PCC to implement this policy and its procedures, and a different individual as Children's Champion :

Our Church Safeguarding Officer is Shola Soyoye.

Our Children's Champion is Wendy Pope.

If you have any safeguarding issues, please contact Shola Soyoye, our Church Safeguarding Lead, by sending an email to [email protected]
