About us
We are Volition – an innovation in volunteering and employability. Our aim is to help unemployed people reach their goal of securing a good job through training, and upskilling. Our programme offers a structured pathway to support people back in to work.

We have a strong no goodbyes policy. Our volunteers can stay with us for as long as they wish and return to us whenever they need to.

10-week programme
Over a course of ten weeks, we focus on employability skills to help our volunteers stand out in a competitive job market. We do this through:

Volunteering – we set volunteers up with a role of their choice at Manchester Cathedral
Job club – our volunteers receive extra support with their job search
Training course – The Manchester College deliver an accredited employability programme
Mentoring – we offer support and guidance from our staff and partners
Employer partnerships
We work with businesses in the city through our award winning employer partnership. Our partners go the extra mile to support Volition volunteers with work related training, mock interviews, and mentoring.

When our volunteers feel ready to move in to work, we recommend them to our employer partners who are offering jobs.
