About Us

St Barnabas' Church meets for worship in a beautiful Victorian church, in the heart of the old village of Heaton, on the outskirts of Bradford.

We are a small and friendly congregation, worshipping in the familiar Anglican way, with a strong and committed choir.  Our services include Common Worship, and the Book of Common Prayer, and are mostly eucharistic.

St Barnabas' is a stunning venue for weddings, and is home to a very fine organ which combines with an excellent acoustic, and good central heating (!) to make the church an ideal venue for concerts .  Our building is home to the award winning "Heaton Millennium Tapestry" - and has some very fine stained glass windows, which are well worth a visit.

Together with our parish priest, we are exploring how best to "be church" in this place - to serve God and our neighbours, in the fast changing multi-faith and multi-cultural context of our parish.  Through worship, housegroups, reflection and prayer, we aspire to become "Jesus-Shaped People".

Our prayer is that we will grow spiritually, numerically, and in wisdom and grace, under God's guidance.

Whether you live in the area, are just passing through, or simply want a thoughtful community in which to explore questions of faith, we would welcome you to come and join us on our journey!
