Thought for the Day

Rev Angela shared details of a Radio 4 programme called Café Hope with Rachel Burden. Guests pop in for a brew and a chat to tell us what they're doing to make the world a better place. In ‘From behind bars to bikes’ on March 29th a former advertising executive set up a business for ex-prisoners to learn cycle repairs to give them a new skill and job opportunities. He was open about his reason for doing this - his Christian faith inspired him to follow Jesus in reaching out to outsiders others looked down on and offer them fresh hope and life. You can find his story (and others like it) at

Treating everyone with kindness, persevering with people who seem difficult, negative and off-putting may not work with everyone but over time it can be life changing. Showing an interest in and listening to someone can help to heal past hurts. Welcoming, accepting and including someone shows them they matter now, whatever has happened in their past.

Dear God, Help us treat others as we’d like them to treat us. Amen.
